Family counsellors, move aside. Vastu Shastra, the ancient Indian treatise on architecture, has now come to the rescue of estranged couples, family discords and even job stress.

So if you are stressed at work, all you need to do is clear the junk at home, put green curtains in your room as this colour calms the mind and plant tall trees in the south-west of the house.

Want a promotion at work, simply sit in your office facing north west. Vastu can even make perpetual latecomers come to office in time. Just brighten up your room at home with light coloured wallpaper as this will brighten up the environment and help to view everything positively, even reach office on time.

Vastu even offers tips to deal with quarrelling colleagues, boost self-esteem and other problems at workplace.

Most relationship problems can be overcome through vastu techniques as vastu helps create harmony with nature to make the occupants of a house or workplace happy by improving mutual relationships, says a new book Cultivate Your Relationships the Vastu Way by Dr Prem Kumar Sharma, a renowned astrologer and vastu expert.

Vastu Shastra maintains that it is the structure that influences the occupants of a building and not the other way round. It blames the construction of the building and the arrangements within for this transformation because the same individual, who was cheerful in the company of his family members outside the house, becomes irritable once inside, says Dr Sharma.
