Four Naga militants were killed in an encounter with Central Paramilitary Forces at Kalapahar area in Senapati district of Manipur, official sources said in Imphal.

Acting on a tip-off, personnel of 14th Assam Rifles surrounded a hilly area near Kalapahar, about 30 km from Imphal, late last night and launched a massive manhunt, they said.
As the security personnel intensified the search operation, gunshots were fired by the militants. In the ensuing heavy exchange of fire, four members of National Socialist Council of Nagaland -- Khaplang faction (NSCN-K) were killed.
Some sophisticated arms, including AK-47 rifles, were also recovered from the victims whose boies were sent to Regional Institute of Medical Science Hospital for post mortem.
Reports from the district said some NSCN-K members also reportedly escaped under cover of darkness to nearby hill areas.
The Assam Rifles personnel continued the search operation on Thursday, the sources added.
