Net savvy Delhi University freshers have found a better way to make friends even before they get into the full-fledged college mode. With a number of Facebook pages, which are meant for freshers, students can now gang up much early. The page, called D.U. Freshers’11, has around 900 members.

Net savvy Delhi University freshers have found a better way to make friends even before they get into the full-fledged college mode. With a number of Facebook pages, which are meant for freshers, students can now gang up much early. The page, called D.U. Freshers’11, has around 900 members.

Members post their course on the page, find their classmates and start making friends. For instance, Agnes Lee posted, ‘JMC..!!??? B.A Prog .. :)’ on the page and has already found what are the likes and dislikes of her new classmates. “It’s a great idea to know your classmates through a platform like Facebook,” says Rahul Singhal, a new student at Hansraj College and a member of this page.

The seniors too feel that the page is a good initiative . “I wish we had similar things when we were freshers. We almost took a month to get to know our classmates and figure out our peer group. This is just so cooler,” says Saanya Khanna, an ex-student of Lady Shri Ram College for women.Apart from making friends, students are also posting queries on these pages and getting their answers.
