Functions mark IAF anniversary

TO COMMEMORATE the 74th anniversary of Indian Air Force on October 8, 2006 various functions were held for the Air Warriors during week long celebrations at various institutions at headquarters Central Air Command, Bamrauli.

Air Marshal JS Gujral, PVSM, VM VSM ADC, Air Officer Commanding-in-chief, Central Air Command, in his message on this occasion conveyed his greetings and good wishes to all Air Warriors /NCS (E) and civilians of Central Air Command and their families.

He said that the Indian Air Force had undertaken many heroic relief and rescue missions in the recent past. He congratulated each and every member of Central Air Command for the sterling performance during flood relief operations in Gujarat and other parts of the country.

He called upon the personnel of the command to perform their duty with integrity and loyalty to pursue excellence in every sphere of life and to follow traditions of Indian Air Force in the finest manner.

Air Marshal KD Singh, AVSM, Senior Air Staff Officer, Central Air Command today paid homage to the martyrs, amidst the sound of bugles, at the War Memorial at Bamrauli (Built up in the memory of Air Warriors of the Central Air Command who sacrified their lives for the nation).

He also administered oath to the Air Warriors of headquarters, Central Air Command. During this week-long celebrations, Air Marshal JS Gujaral and Senior Officers of Headquarters, Central Air Command met serving / retired Air Warriors and civilians employees at various functions held during the week, informs, SM Sharma, Wing Commander, PRO, Ministry of defence.
