G-4 may delay vote on resolution
Vote on framework resolution on UNSC reforms may be delayed till after the AU Summit in early August.
The four nations seeking permanent membership of the UN Security Council may delay vote on their framework resolution on council reforms till after the African Union Summit in early August, diplomats here indicated.

Japanese Foreign Minister Nobutaka Machimura briefed UN General Assembly President Jean Ping last evening on the discussions G4 comprising India, Brazil, Germany and Japan had with foreign ministers in London.
Later he told reporters that G4 plans to have a vote on the resolution by this month end would have to be given up if African Union decides to have a summit on August 4.
"We are trying to get to the vote as quickly as possible. We will have to know what is the outcome of the African Summit," German UN Ambassador Gunter Pleuger told reporters.
However, a vote in September prior to summit of world leaders at the United Nations, scheduled for September 14-16, would be "too late," he added.
Algerian UN Ambassador Abdallah Baali, said G4 would have to wait for Africans to make up their mind before calling for a vote. Algeria is known opponent of G-4 within AU.
The G-4 members met with cosponsors yesterday to explain the changes made in the draft in the light of discussions they had with AU.
The reaction of the cosponsors was not immediately available.
