Gandhi to appear in Jerusalem

In an attempt to promote the concept of non-violence among Palestinians, Hollywood stars Ben Kingsley and Richard Gere were in Jerusalem for the screening of Richard Attenborough's film Gandhi.

Kingsley, who acted in the film in the lead role, along with Gere will also meet Israeli and Palestinian leaders during the visit to discuss developments in the region, Jerusalem Post reported.

The latest initiative comes a few months after Mahatma Gandhi's grandson, Arun Gandhi, visited the region, making a fervent plea to the Palestinians to launch a non-violent movement against Israel.
