Gastro-enteritis claims 2 lives in West Bengal

Two children have died of gastro-enteritis and some 28 others are suffering from the same in Chopra in West Bengal's North Dinajpur district, Health department sources said today.

Two children have died of gastro-enteritis and some 28 others are suffering from the same in Chopra in West Bengal's North Dinajpur district, Health department sources said today.

They said two children Aesha Khatun (5 years) and Md Rahman (9 years) of Chetanagaz area of Chopra had died last week from gastro-enteritis.

The 28 children have been admitted to Chopra hospital in the last one week due to gastro-enteritis and other water borne disease, they said.

The Assistant Chief Medical Officer Health Dr Animesh Roy said the department had rushed necessary medicine to the affected areas.
