Get, set and file FIRs against Enclave intruders

TAKING A serious view of the official laxity, LDA Vice Chairman BB Singh on Tuesday asked LDA Secretary Ram Bilas Yadav to lodge FIRs against all illegal occupants of the Nehru Enclave colony. Deputing two additional executive engineers, namely, Kannaihya Lal and Atul Raizada to assist in identifying those against whom action was to be initiated, the LDA VC asked Yadav to personally supervise the whole exercise. ?A copy of the FIRs should also be sent to the SSP for necessary action,? he said.

Deputing two additional executive engineers, namely, Kannaihya Lal and Atul Raizada to assist in identifying those against whom action was to be initiated, the LDA VC asked Yadav to personally supervise the whole exercise. “A copy of the FIRs should also be sent to the SSP for necessary action,” he said.

At the same time, the LDA secretary was also directed to stop payment of salaries of those LDA staff, who were residing in an unauthorised manner in the colony without depositing the full cost of the flat in which they were living with the LDA. “If required, an FIR should also be got registered against such erring employees. But a decision on this could be taken at a later stage,” said the LDA VC.

Since some of these employees have actually profited by renting out these flats without making full payment to the LDA, the income from rent should be deducted from their monthly salaries, said the missive. Sources in the department said, one reason for the property section staff to go slow on the matter was that the names of some of their own colleagues and LDA engineers figured on the list of illegal occupants.

When asked why LDA was shying away from lodging FIRs against those who after being evicted had again grabbed the flats Executive Engineer YK Jain said that a warning in the form of a public notice in this connection had already been issued. “We have given time till April 30 to all illegal occupants to vacate their premises voluntarily or else they would forcibly evicted and appropriate legal action would also be taken against them,” he said. The real test, according to sources, for LDA officials would be to get the illegally occupied higher income group flats in the Rupayan and Vatayan block vacated from their influential inhabitants that comprise students’ leaders and the Mafiosi.
