Get that glow
If your complexion is on the dark side, go for warmer shades of blush. Those with fairer skins can use any shade, but original pink looks best. Read on for more tips.
Body shimmer
The basic purpose of a shimmer powder is to add shine.

Where to apply: If you are wearing a low-neck top, dust some on your cleavage, or on your arms or hands. Or even on your back, if you are revealing it. Shimmer can be used on top of bronzers to enhance your tan. Though professionals do use shimmer on the face, it isn’t advisable to do it on your own. It has to be correctly applied on the face or else you might end up looking like a disco ball. You can also dust shimmer across your collarbone and shoulders.
How to use: Brush on body shimmer powders using light strokes, layering more powder until the desired effect is achieved. Do not apply shimmer directly on your body as the skin will look dry. First, apply some lotion and then use shimmer powder.
Blush
Available in various shades of pink.
Who can apply: If your complexion is on the dark side, go for warmer shades of the pink family. Those with fairer skins can use any shade, but original pink looks best.
What it does: Blush is supposed to highlight your cheeks and add colour and glow to the face. Without it, your face looks bare.
Where to apply: On the apples of cheeks.
How to apply: Make sure you don’t look like you have apples drawn on your cheeks.
The correct way to apply blush is to smile and then suck in your cheeks. Find the apple of your cheeks and apply blush from the nostrils towards the ear. Don’t go beyond the ends of your eyes. Always apply blush in an upwards direction.
Bronzer
Available in varying shades of brown, as powder, as pearls and liquid. For India, the powder version is recommended. Bronzers are also available in matte finishes, or with shimmer.
Who can apply: People with fair or wheatish complexions. Those with a dark complexion should avoid them.
What it does: Bronzers give you a natural tanned look. A bronzer also helps contour the shape of your face.
Where to apply: On those areas of your face that you want to highlight – forehead, cheeks, chin and nose.
How to apply: Sprinkle with a brush. Start with less so you can balance it. If you use it on your face, also brush some on your neck and chest. When you use it for contouring, consider which feature you want to highlight or downplay. Always use an angle or special bronzer brush.
