Gitanjali bags first prize in bait-baazi

PRIZES for winners in various competitions of the Iqbal Samaroh organised under the aegis of Iqbal Markaz of Sahitya Akademi were announced on Thursday.
The team of Gitanjali College comprising Tabish Husaini, Asma Khan and Kausar won the first prize in bait-baazi. They have been awarded a cash prize of Rs 2,000. The teams of MLB College team (Nida Siddiqui, Fakhira Aziz and Samina Gauhar) and State Law College (Vibha, Fiza and Sapna) were adjudged second and third respectively.
In the painting competition, Rachna of Jawaharlal Nehru School won the first prize of Rs 1,000 while Senil Modi (Red Rose School) and Syed Almas Ali (All Saints’ School) came second and third. Nitin Singh won the first prize in Group B and Rohit Tambe and Shubham Keshwani were adjudged second and third respectively. Amongst senior students, Brij Patil, Shanti Tirkey and Amit Naik were adjudged first, second and third respectively. Consolation prizes were given to 15 others. A mushaira of women poets was also organised.
