GM Daewoo Auto and Technology, South Korea's third-largest carmaker, recalled Wednesday 208 Lacetti compact cars and Rezzo minivans because of defective drive shafts, officials said.

The recall, which was ordered by the construction and transportation ministry, affects 120 Lacetti models produced between August 29 and September 6 this year and 88 Rezzo units produced between August 31 and September 5.
GM Daewoo was set up by General Motors in 2002 when the world's largest automaker bought most of Daewoo Motor's assets.
