GMC removes encroachments

They also removed the temporary shops set up in front of St Andrew’s Degree College and Betiahata crossing.

The members of the squad faced resistance from the shop owners who complained that no notice in connection with the encroachment drive was served on them.

However, the members of the squad and deputy municipal commission Gopikrishna Srivastav said that sanitation work of drainage was suffering due to encroachment and despite reminders the encroachers did not remove their shops.

He further said that drive would continue.
