Grant draws from self for new novel

Actor Hugh Grant is drawing from the "bad parts" of his own personality to create a dark character in his upcoming novel.
Grant says he has been trying to write the book for many years now and clarifies that it is not going to be a Hollywood memoir, reports contactmusic.com.
He said: "Listen, I've been trying to write that book for 20 years literally. I'm now on page 26. It's slow. It's not, strictly speaking, an autobiography. I've taken myself and I've extrapolated all my worst characteristics and created this kind of monster."
He added: "It's fiction and I explained that to my girlfriend when I read it to her. I said, 'I just want you to know this is not me, this is me taken a thousand times worse' and even then when I read it to her, she was so disturbed, she wanted to run for the hills. It's dark."
