Gulf Indian gets life sentence

A 28-year-old Indian has been sentenced to life imprisonment in the emirates of Ras Al Khaimah for attempting to kill his colleague.

The RAK Criminal Court awarded the sentence to Ramesh Kumar who tried to murder his co-worker after he was unsuccessful in his bid to rob him, the Khaleej Times reported.

The court ordered the accused to be deported after he had served his jail term.

Kumar has been allowed the opportunity to appeal the ruling in a higher court.
