The division bench of the High Court comprising Justices K K Lahoti and S Kemkar, was hearing the petition by Ramswaroop, Dilip's brother, demanding a speedy inquiry.

"The CBI sought six months' time to complete the probe but the bench did not agree to it and directed the agency to do the job in two months," Patidars' counsel Bhuwan Deshmukh told reporters. On October 1 last year, the High Court had ordered the CBI probe into the case but had not fixed time limit.

Patidar was the tenant of Ramchandra Kalsangra alias Ramji - wanted in connection with Samjhauta Express blast and other terror acts. Patidar's family claims that Dilip was picked up by the Maharashtra ATS from Indore in November 2008 for interrogation in Malegaon blast case, after which he didn't return home.
