He’s no Hollywood guy

That is just one per cent of my work, it is distressing when my Hollywood connections are all people focus on. In fact here [in the US] it is a disadvantage to be associated with Hollywood."

Last year Chopra did a cameo in Mike Myer’s The Love Guru, that is said to be based loosely on Chopra’s character. “I was disappointed in Mike, he made a terrible movie. I trusted him to do a good job but the little bit of the movie I saw was disgusting. He’s a good friend but unfortunately it was an artisitic endeavour that failed,” says Chopra about the experience. “Fortunately it [the movie] passed unnoticed,” he adds.

Oscar winning actor, late Heath Ledger, was another of Chopra’s Hollywood friends. In fact, Ledger was supposed to lunch with Chopra and Shekhar Kapur on the day he died. “Heath was a very special person. I was at Shekhar Kapur’s house in New York, and we were to meet for lunch... what happened was very tragic.”

Looking forward, Chopra, who will be in the capital on 27th to give a motivational talk for CNBC TV 18’s lecture series, says, Obama is the future of collective consciousness. “I am his greatest supporter,” he says.
