Heavy rush for UGAT forms
OWING TO a great response being witnessed from the students, the Allahabad University (AU) authorities are expecting a bumper sale of admission forms this year. Based on their calculations, after considering the first two days of sale figures, the varsity officials are confident of netting as much as Rs 1.50 crore from the sale of forms alone. Students thronged the counters of the AU Pravesh Bhawan to get UGAT -2006 forms for the second consecutive day on Wednesday.

Based on their calculations, after considering the first two days of sale figures, the varsity officials are confident of netting as much as Rs 1.50 crore from the sale of forms alone. Students thronged the counters of the AU Pravesh Bhawan to get UGAT -2006 forms for the second consecutive day on Wednesday. Students gathered at the counters much before the official time to ensure that they get the form and do not face the scorching sun rays. Taking cognizance of the number of students, the varsity officials opened the counters at 9.30 am itself instead of the designated time 10 am. Students from across the district and the state purchased the forms.
According to official records, a total of 6175 forms were sold on Wednesday out of which 4975 were for General category students (Rs 250) and 1200 forms of SC/ST, Employees wards (Rs 100). The total collection on Wednesday was Rs 13.63 lakhs which was ever more than the first day's collection of Rs 12.50 lakh following the sale of 5600 forms in total.
Results through RIM
AU has made special arrangements to help the UGAT-2006 applicants to know their results through the Reliance India Mobiles (RIM). The results scheduled to be declared on June 29 and 30 and July 1 will be available at the AU website— www.allahabaduniversity.com— and Reliance R-world/SMS/Voice Portal for the convenience of the candidates.
To know the result by SMS, a Reliance user has to type AUUGAT space 0000 roll number and send the message at 3926. For R-World open Menu>R-World>Hot n News>Examination Result to get the result.
It is worth mentioning that AU Public Relation Officer Prof Amarendra Singh had sent a letter to Reliance Infocom on April 7 about the approval of proposal for providing results to the RIM users by the AU Vice-Chancellor Prof RG Harshe.
According to the terms for providing the results there will be no financial charges borne by the University for providing the facility to Reliance Infocom, no part or whole of the result will be shared with any outside agency under any circumstances, due care would be taken for displaying the results, the CD containing the results will be handed over to Reliance authorized representatives by the undersigned minimum 12-18 hours before the declaration of the results and the results will be made available by Reliance for a minimum of seven days from the date of declaration.
