DGP YASHPAL Singh today called upon police pensioners to play constructive role to boost the image of the department.

Addressing a gathering of pensioners on the occasion of Police Week, which began today, Singh said in the present situation policing had become difficult.

He asked the retired personnel to present police issues before the people so that prevailing misconception about the department could be removed. The DGP also assured pensioners to solve their problems.

Referring to the slackness on the part of nodal officers, the DGP said action would be taken against them after investigation. The DGP said he would himself review the working of nodal officers. DG (Police Headquarters) SK Rizvi said the department had already provided office accommodation to pensioners’ association in 54 districts and guesthouses had been provided in 48 districts.

President of the Pensioners Association Eshwar Chandra Dwivedi laid stress on using right to information to get benefit for themselves.
