Here are our very own band of boys
Boyzone, Vengaboys, Backstreet Boys all rolled into one. They are our very own The Band of Boys. Meet Nikhil Haldipur, Chintu Bhonsle, Sudhanshu Pandey and Karan Oberoi, members of the famous boy band who were in town painting it red as they got ready in the greenroom for their performance at the ongoing ?Shilp Mela? at the UP Sangeet Natak Akademi premises where HT Lucknow Live caught up with them for a candid tete-a-tete. ?

Meet Nikhil Haldipur, Chintu Bhonsle, Sudhanshu Pandey and Karan Oberoi, members of the famous boy band who were in town painting it red as they got ready in the greenroom for their performance at the ongoing ‘Shilp Mela’ at the UP Sangeet Natak Akademi premises where HT Lucknow Live caught up with them for a candid tete-a-tete. ”
This is our first visit to Lucknow as a team and we have been up and about the city since our arrival,” says Nikhil , whose uncle Amar Haldipur was an assistant to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan before branching off as an independent music-director .
“In fact, I am also friends with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan who is also the member of a famous Pakistani band apart from being a music director,” said Nikhil. Chintu Bhonsle also has music in his blood, “My aunt Asha Tai (the great Asha Bhonsle) has always inspired me. Regarding music directors, the obvious choice is the one and only RD Burman.”
Sudhanshu Pandey is a known face on both the small and the big screen, been seen recently in a meaty role in the Arjun Rampal - Priyanka Chopra starrer Yakeen said, “I had also done a cameo in the Akshay- Mahima starrer Khiladi 420 apart from doing roles in TV serials, but music has always been my first love,” says this tall, dark and handsome hunk.
Karan Oberoi of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin (JJKN) fame is also a stunningly handsome good looker, “I had earlier done serials like Saaya and Milan on the same channel but JJKN gave me instant recognition, though regarding music I have the same feelings as Sudhanshu ”. Talk of PYT’s and there is a glint in the eyes of the freaky foursome , “O, where are they, bring them on, we are single and ready to mingle !”.
Talking about the boy bands from the west, they say in unison, “Bring them on too, we are ready and waiting to take them head on,”. About the recent trends of talent scouting and talent hunts, they say, “Nobody went scouting for us. We came together on our own. There have been girl bands like Viva, mixed bands like Aasma and Channel V has also held Popstars recently, but we are the first authentic boy band in India and are proud of that ,” they say while signing off for their performance in which they rendered Hume tumse pyar kitna, Teri Yaad Humsafar subah shaam and many more.
