IF YOU are a confirmed coffee aficionado and yet do not want to leave the cozy setting of your home and head to the faraway shop for that refreshing sip, don’t feel disappointed. Connoisseurs of coffee can now use their cell phones to place an order from anywhere in town and the ‘hot bubbly’ will be delivered to their home.
The recently launched mobile coffee van offers coffee at cheaper rates in the capital - Rs 3 per cup and gives you a small sachet good enough to make a cup of coffee at home free of cost.
If you place a big order, the van will come to your house else the delivery boy will come to your doorstep with steaming coffee in a container for a special treat to your guests.
Else you can walk down to the van and get a taste of the hot drink. More over, it’s not only damn cheap but gives the taste of real coffee. After food and snacks, it’s the turn of fresh beverages to be delivered at your doorstep.
Already, a vendor has been selling soup on his cycle all over the capital with his cell phone number written on the soup cans on his cycle so that orders could be placed on the phone itself. Now mobile coffee van is the latest novelty.
“The van remains at Bittan Market from morning to noon then our next stoppage is Satpura Bhawan for the afternoon and in the evening we are available on the road to Palash Hotel near GTB complex in New Market,” says Rajkumar, a vendor at the Nescafe’s coffee van that aims at developing the taste of coffee amongst citizens.
The company has four similar vans in Indore that reportedly sell over 1,000 cups each. The mobile van service was launched in Bhopal only a week ago and sellers hope sales will pick up soon.
“Already people have begun waiting for us at the three different spots where we park our vans,” says another vendor at the mobile van.
“Today we took the van to an office where around 50 cups were to be served,” he added. Soon more vans will be seen selling coffee in the City as part of the promotional drive of the company and for tapping the potential of the coffee market.
