Housing scheme: Nod to double financial help

Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has approved a proposal to double the financial assistance given to Scheduled Castes and de-notified tribes under the Dr BR Ambedkar housing scheme for the repair of houses.

The amount had been increased to Rs 20,000, minister for welfare of scheduled castes and backward classes Geeta Bhukkal said in a release on Friday.

She said the state government has implemented a number of schemes for the welfare of weaker sections of society.
