The Himachal Vikas Congress has instructed its cadres to work for BJP candidates in all four LS seats to keep Congress out of power.
The Himachal Vikas Congress (HVC) has decided to support the BJP candidates in all four Lok Sabha seats to keep the Congress out of power.
"The party had instructed its cadres all over the state to work for the success of the BJP candidates," HVC general secretary Karam Chand Bhatia said in a statement in Shimla.
He said the HVC was a recognised party, but it had not fielded any candidate as it was part of the NDA.
Meanwhile, former chief secretary and HPCC executive member Amar Nath Vidyarthi has urged the Election Commission not to postpone the elections in Lahaul valley and Spiti as the snow had melted and vehicular traffic had been restored.
BJP candidate Maheshwar Singh, who was stranded in the snowbound Lahaul valley for four days, had requested the EC to defer the polls in Mandi constituency as campaign in the tribal segments was being hampered by heavy snowfall and disruption of road traffic and communication links.
