RJD chief Laloo Prasad Yadav has congratulated the people of the country for uprooting the BJP and dethroning the NDA government at the centre.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Laloo Prasad Yadav on Thursday congratulated the people of the country for uprooting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and dethroning the National Democratic Alliance government at the centre.
Laloo, who was camping at Madhepura, said he had succeeded in his ‘BJP hatao’ (remove BJP) campaign. “Those who fan communalism were destined to meet this fate. People have rejected the BJP and the results have been on predicted lines,” he added. In the same vein he said the Janata Dal (United) leader Sharad Yadav, after his defeat, had fled to New Delhi.
The RJD chief claimed had the counting for Bettiah, Siwan and Chapra taken place, his party would have won all the three seats.
Laloo evaded a direct reply when asked who would now be the prime minister in the event of the secular alliance’s success at the hustings and his earlier comment that after being the kingmaker, he would now be the ‘queen maker’.
“I am leaving Madhepura and the issue will be decided soon,” he added. Laloo is expected to leave for New Delhi on Friday.
Meanwhile, political circles are agog with rumours that if Laloo also wins the Chapra seat, fresh poll for which is scheduled on May 31, he might surrender the Madhepura seat.
