THE UTTAR Pradesh IAS Association will hold its executive committee meeting on Thursday to decide the association’s future course of action vis-à-vis the State Government’s decision to post two PCS officers as district magistrates.
As the members of the elite service were feeling agitated over the State Government’s decision, the association is likely to weigh various options before taking a final decision on the issue. A considerable number of officers have even demanded that the association should convene an extra-ordinary AGM to discuss the issue.
Significantly, the State Government has issued orders to post two PCS officers as district magistrates despite a letter from the Union Additional Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training saying that posting of non-cadre officers on cadre posts was not in accordance with provisions of the All India Service Rules.
