"In the context of changing education scenario, teachers must themselves be able to handle new age innovative ICTs for delivery of education," said Sutapa Bose, co-ordinator of the programme run by the IGNOU School of Education.

The programme aims for a shift from conventional chalk and talk teaching to ICT-mediated pedagogy, he said. Pro-Vice Chancellor K R Srivathsan, a veteran scientist at Information and Communication Technologies said, "Teachers must be supported by online course content and collaborative facilities.”
