IIIT-A fest concludes on an impressive note

FAMOUS MUSIC bands 'Bandish' and 'Abbey' performed to electrify the audiences on the second day of three-day cultural extravaganza-? Effervescence-MMVI? of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-A) here on Saturday night. The day was marked by concerts and dance performances to entertain one and all. To add to the dance fever, Kenil dance troupe from Bollywood also dazzled the audience.

FAMOUS MUSIC bands 'Bandish' and 'Abbey' performed to electrify the audiences on the second day of three-day cultural extravaganza-’ Effervescence-MMVI’ of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-A) here on Saturday night.
The day was marked by concerts and dance performances to entertain one and all. To add to the dance fever, Kenil dance troupe from Bollywood also dazzled the audience.

Abbey, the magician of popular music, was the first to perform on stage. His performance was accompanied by Kenil dance troupe from Bollywood.
Abbey, the sound engineer turned singer, is a young artiste who emerged into the world of music, with his sensational video ‘Aye sanam’.

After thrilling music lovers with his first album, Abbey has bounced back with a second album, 'Fidaa'. 'Fidaa' has ten songs, all in a different style like reggae, rock and pop.

Kenil dance troupe from Bollywood has had the distinction of working with famous choreographers like Farah Khan, Gita Kapoor and many more. They have also performed with popular artistes like Rakhee Sawanth, Haezal, Meghna Naidu, and also ace singers like Sunidhi Chauhan and Sonu Nigam for various international tours.

Bandish, the popular masters of Indi-pop gave the second performance of the evening. Bandish has truly been blessed with musicians who prove to be melodic and bursting with energy. Bandish was formed by the ace drummer and percussionist Chris Powell along with guitarists Desmond and Adil Manuel, vocalist Abhishek Nailwal, and bass player Arpan Guha. The second day had started on a technical note with the robotics related event called ‘AI Workshop’ that was organized by the robotics club of IIIT-A ‘Robita’.

The next event was ‘Plannum’. It was a management related event in which the participants were asked to present innovative ideas in diverse business related fields. In ‘Soluette’, another event related to case study in business. In this event the teams were given a problem or situation related to management and they were screened according to the originality, effectiveness and creativity reflected in their solutions of the case studies. The MBA-IT team (team name: ‘Captain’ ) of IIIT-A bagged the first prize while the second prize was jointly awarded to the teams from IIITM Gwalior and another MBA-IT team of IIIT (team name Vogue ).

Among the cultural events there was an Antakshari in which the first prize went to - Shubham Agarwal and Dhruv Joshi of BTech IIIrd Year IIIT-A.
The second prize was awarded to - Rohit Singh Chouhan and Sameer Prajapati of BTech IIIrd Year IIIT-A. The third prize was bagged by - Nitin Pande and Sudhanshu Chawla of BTech IIIrd Year IIIT-A.

‘Mindspeak’ was the second cultural event which was a sort of group discussion on ‘Indian Education System’ in which the participants put forward their views and opinions regarding the present condition and possibilities of further improvement in the education system of India.

In this event Amod Gupta of BTech 8th semester, IIIT-A was awarded the prize for the best speaker. The last among the cultural events was the dumb charades in which teams of 3 members each were allowed to participate.
First prize went to Nitin Pande, Sudhanshu Chawla and Harsh Mundra of BTech IIIrd Year. Second prize to Rakshit, Amod Gupta and Hemant Kumar of BTech IVth Year. Third prize was awarded to Abhishek, K Abhishek and Rakesh Silver of BTech IInd Year.

The third and final day of ‘Effervescence MMVI’ also witnessed many other events like Melodieux (music competition), Anvesha (paper presentation contest) and solo and duet dance competitions called Carpe Diem and La Frenze.
