"I want to see them fight hard and show grit and determination. I want to see them play positive cricket on the tour of India. They should not think that they cannot beat India. Instead, they should think if previous two Pakistan teams can win, they can win also," Imran Khan told reporters in Lahore at the opening of a sports goods shop run by another former captain Wasim Akram.

Imran captained Pakistan to victory in 1986 while Akram won two Tests in India in 1999.

"Winning and losing is part of the game. I am not bothered if you go down fighting. But what hurts me most is if you surrender without a fight. The Pakistan cricket teams need to believe in them and trust their skills and potential," Imran said.

He expected that the Mohali wicket would suit the seamers. "It should seam in Mohali and that's where Pakistan will certainly miss Shoaib Akhtar. I think rest of the surfaces will be more or less the same on which our batsmen are used to playing in Pakistan.

"I am expecting a better performance from the Pakistan cricket team on the Indian tour also because they have come from a tough Australian tour and though they lost there, they must have learnt plenty of things. It's time to show that they have improved and removed their mistakes," Imran said.
