Apropos of Rajdeep Sardesai’s Inheritance of loss (June 22), now that a ‘low-profile, good person’, Pratibha Patil Shekhawat, is about to be anointed the country’s first woman President, the use of Rashtrapatni as the female equivalent of Rashtrapati’is in bad taste and derogatory and must be avoided. One wonders why a journalist of Sardesai’s standing failed to appreciate this.
