Peace is imperative for progress and prosperity of the people of this region and PDP through its policies and programmes would convince both India and Pakistan to give peace the first priority, he said addressing a public meeting at Kotranka in Rajouri district.

Exhorting party workers to prepare themselves for a peaceful struggle for establishing sustainable peace in the state, Sayeed said that since its formation PDP has been propagating that violence was no solution of any problem.

"Dialogue is the only means to resolve all problems", the former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister said and asserted that PDP will pressure both India and Pakistan into taking concrete steps to solve this problem once for all.

He said no mentionable growth and meaningful development could be achieved without sustaining peace and normalcy.

Claiming that attaining power was not the objective of the PDP, he said the party was created with the sole aim of mitigating the misery of Kashmiri people and establishing sustainable peace in the region.
