INDIA POST’S much-awaited facility – Instant Money Order — will be launched in the City on October 16. The Instant Money Order (iMO) – an online service of domestic money transfer through Department of Posts — offers customer speed, mobility, safety and reliability of money transfer.
Under the service, money can be transferred within seconds to designated post offices in India. The customer can send money from Rs 1,000 to Rs 50,000..
The iMO facility is available at 41 designated post offices in the country and almost all the state capitals are linked to the iMO network.
The customer will be paid Rs 20,000 in cash and beyond it, payment will be made through cheque. “Necessary training has been imparted to employees at Central TT Nagar HO by the National Informatics Centre,” said Brajesh Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices (Bhopal Div).
The commission charged is Rs 150 for the mount from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 and thereafter Rs 20 extra for every additional Rs 5,000 subject to a maximum of Rs 330 for the remittance ranging from Rs 45,001 to Rs 50,000.
