Inquiry into contaminated water ordered in Jammu.

Chief engineer (public health engineering) has asked for a departmental inquiry into the complaints of contaminated water being supplied in the old city area. The executive engineer has been asked to file a reply in three days.

An RTI activist in a complaint made to the chief minister's grievance cell alleged that the water being supplied to the area was not fit for human consumption.

The complainant had also alleged that the department was not taking a serious view of the matter in spite of repeated reminders and had not even collected water samples from the area.
