A HIGH-level probe has begun into the death of a woman 24 hours after she underwent a family planning operation at the Guna district hospital on December 29.

The case has complicated further as her relatives had performed her last rites without bothering about post mortem formalities. Guna CMO, Dr. NK Sarraf said a high-level probe committee comprising Civil Surgeon Dr. AP Agarwal, Dr. CD Sharma, Dr. Kanti Suman Diwakar and Dr. LN Ojha has been instituted to probe into the case.

Dr. Sarraf said the deceased was Rambai Dhakad, a resident of Dungasra village under primary health centre, Bhadoura in Guna district. The health department came to know about the death only after her final rites were over.

According to relatives of the deceased, soon after returning home in the evening, Rambai started vomiting and complained of stomach pain.

Although her vomiting did stop after taking medicine, the stomach pain grew worse. Her husband Raju Dhakad says Rambai (24), had never complained of any illness, not even a headache ever before.
