The first game pitted Indian Oil Corporation against Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited at the National Stadium. Despite an early lead for IOC through Hamza Mujtava, BPCL scored three in quick succession to end the first half with their noses ahead.

However, a spirited fightback halfway through the second session saw IOC equalize with Raghunath scoring both from penalty corners.

The day's second game was similar, with the lead getting exchanged a number of times after Len Ayyappa opened Air India's account against Namdhari XI.

A goal by Malak Singh of Namdhari equalized the match with two minutes to go, and the teams walked away with a point each.
