ISI agent, four others given police remand

Five persons, including an alleged ISI agent, were Monday remanded to police custody for ten days by a local court.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, P C Biswas today remanded Omar Asharaf, an ISI agent and four of his Indian collaborators who were arrested from the outskirts of the capital town here, to the police remand.

Acting on a tip-off, a contingent of police and intelligence officials led by Superintendent of Police of West Tripura district raided a house at Siddhi Ashram early yesterday and arrested three people.

On the same day, two others were arrested from different parts of the capital town here and recovered some arms and ammunition from them.

The police said Omar Asharaf hailed from Bhawalpur district of Pakistan who entered India through Bangladesh.
