In a day of uncertainties, Uttar Pradesh dominated with the ball in the morning but by the end of the day, they were in a tentative position against Orissa.

Three quick wickets, including that of skipper Mohammad Kaif, tilted the match towards Orissa, who were bowled out for 216 in the first innings.

At 84-3, Uttar Pradesh bank on the in-form Suresh Raina to take the team to a position of strength. Tyagi bowled two devastating spells, taking 6-46 on debut to rout Orissa.
