J&K governor expresses grief over tragic road accident

Jammu and Kashmir governor NN Vohra on Monday expressed grief over the tragic road accident in Baramulla in which five persons were killed and directed an urgent meeting of the department concerned to implement measures to improve road safety.

Governor NN Vohra has expressed grief over the loss of precious human lives in a serious road accident that occurred this morning on Baramulla-Srinagar highway near Rengi, Potukha, leading to the loss of several lives, a Raj Bhawan spokesman said.

The governor has conveyed his sympathy to the bereaved families and prayed for peace to the departed souls, he said.

The spokesman said the governor, who is concerned about the recurring fatal accidents, has called for an urgent meeting of the Road Safety Council in which he shall review the implementation status of various measures that were intended to improve road safety.
