J-K governor visits refugee camps

Jammu and Kashmir governor NN Vohra paid his first visit to the Hiranagar refugee camps since governor's rule was implemented in the state, travelling to assess the present situation and problems being faced by the refugees.

Jammu and Kashmir governor NN Vohra paid his first visit to the Hiranagar refugee camps since governor's rule was implemented in the state, travelling to assess the present situation and problems being faced by the refugees.

Accompanied on his visits by divisional commissioner Jammu, Shantmanu, inspector general of police Rajesh Kumar, DIG Shakeel Beig and deputy commissioner Kathua Dr Shaihd Iqbal Choudhary, Vohra also enquired about the rehabilitation of the refugees as well as their education.

On the occasion, the Border Welfare Committee vice president Bharat Bhushan submitted a memorandum to the Governor, highlighting the issue of regular migration due to incessant ceasefire violations by Pakistan, the allotment of a two-room set at safer place for people living at the International Border, the release of compensation of land used for security purpose, among other issues.
