Police arrested two Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militants and recovered explosive devices from them, foiling their bid to detonate grenades on Independence Day in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Acting on a tip off, troops and police launched a search operation in Doda town late last night and intercepted two youth and recovered three grenades from them, police said.
The detained militants have been identified as Farooq Ahmed and Mohammad Ishtiyaq - of Nali Kulhand area of the district. An LeT militant - Iqbal Malik had told them to hurl grenades in Doda town today, they said.
The duo has been sent to the Joint Interrogation Centre.
Meanwhile, security forces arrested one OGW Riyaz Ahmed of Lodna in Doda district and was handed over to police for further investigation.
