"In view of the supreme sacrifice made by a youth Kuldeep Kumar Dogra on Amarnath land issue, bandh will continue till July 27 to press for the demand of cancellation of revoked order on transfer of forest land to the shrine board and recall of Governor NN Vohra," its convenor Leela Karan Sharma told reporters here this afternoon.

Dogra, who was part of a chain hunger strike in the land allotment row, killed himself by taking poison.

Sharma said, protest rallies will be taken out on July 27 throughout the region and the samiti will also consider an "economic blockade" of the valley.

He also criticised National Conference president Omar Abdullah for his comments on the Amarnath land issue during the trust vote in Parliament.

"Abdullah has hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus," he said.
