Jaya resigned from RS due to Sonia: Amar Singh

Amar Singh has accused Sonia Gandhi to be the main reason for Jaya Bachchan's resignation from the Rajya Sabha.

"Sonia does not want to see MPs like Jaya or me. That is why Jaya lost her Rajya Sabha membership," the SP general secretary said at an election rally at Bejpukur in Howrah district.

Jaya Bachchan was disqualified from the Rajya Sabha on March 6 as, according to the Election Commission, she was holding an office of profit as chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh Film Development Board.
