Earlier today, one security personnel was killed and 14 injured in multiple landmine explosions by the Maoists.

On Saturday night, Maoists had abducted four rural development employees, including Prime Minister Rural Development Fellow Sai Vardhan Vamsi of Andhra Pradesh. The other three abductees are Chandradev Kumar, Shambhu Pandey and Maqsood Alam.

The rebels had intercepted a car near Nokanya village and abducted the occupants -- an employee of a block development office, two members of a panchayat, another person and the driver of the vehicle.

The rebels had let off the driver later and had taken away the other four persons.

A massive search operation had been launched by the security forces yesterday to trace abducted persons.
