Long jumper Anju Bobby George has been chosen for this year's Jimmy George Foundation award for excellence in sports.
Announcing the award here today, MK Joseph, Foundation Chairman, said Anju would be receiving the 16th award of the foundation, instituted in memory of renowned volleyball player Jimmy George.
Anju's husband and coach Robert Bobby George is the youngest brother of Jimmy George.
The award, carrying a cash prize of Rs 10,000, a memento and citation, would be presented to Anju at a function to be held at Peravoor in Kannur district, he said.
