Speaking at a two-day function organised by the BJP Kisan Morcha to discuss the maladies afflicting the farmers, he lamented the use of chemical fertilisers, which were destroying the land fertility.

Expressing concern over the condition of farmers, the senior BJP leader said farmers were not getting the price, which they ought to get on their produce.
Drawing attention towards suicide by the farmers in Punjab, he said such things were happening in an area, which enjoys the status of being the biggest producer of food grains in the country. He said efforts would be made to ensure that farmers should get back their due.
Speaking as the special guest, BJP’s national spokesman Prakash Javedkar said, “Our country has a predominant agricultural base not industrial. But the situation has worsened to such an extent that farmers in many states have started committing suicide.”Other speakers called upon the people to oust the anti-people Mulayam government.
