Justin Ontong, a coloured from Cape Province, made his Test debut against Australia in Sydney in 2001-02.

It was on this trip that he was pulled into a racism issue when SA Board president overruled national selectors and made him play in place of the senior Jacques Rudolph. He didn't play since and India visit will be his next after a gap of three years.

Ontong started off as a batsman but now is regular with off breaks.

In the domestic circuit in South Africa is known to emulate his idol, Jonty Rhodes. And it certainly shows in his electrifying fielding in the domestic circuit.
