K'taka calls special session on Oct 18

The cabinet decides to call a special session to resolve the stalemate over transfer of power from JD-S to BJP.

The Karnataka cabinet on Friday decided to call a special assembly session on October 18 to resolve the stalemate over transferring power from the Janata Dal-S (JD-S) to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The cabinet meeting was held in the absence of the 17 BJP ministers who have quit seeking immediate transfer of power to their party.

All the 17 BJP ministers had resigned on Tuesday, the day HD Kumaraswamy's 20-month tenure as chief minister ended.
