Kabir Mutt to be renovated at a cost of Rs 50 lakh
IN A bid to beautify the original living place of great saint of Bhakti movement, Kabir, the management of Kabirchaura-based ?Kabir Mutt? has prepared a project of worth Rs 50 lakh, scheduled to be started from June 11.
IN A bid to beautify the original living place of great saint of Bhakti movement, Kabir, the management of Kabirchaura-based ‘Kabir Mutt’ has prepared a project of worth Rs 50 lakh, scheduled to be started from June 11.
Talking to media persons on Friday, chief priest of mutt, Sant Vivek Das Acharya said that Kabir had led Bhakti movement during medieval period from Kabirchaura in Varanasi, which was later developed as a mutt, had also played important role in the freedom struggle of country.
“Keeping in the view of mutt’s importance where large number of people used to visit across the globe, the management of ‘Kabir Mutt’ has decided to develop it in a manner to disseminate the message of Kabir’s teachings,” he said.
He said that sculptors, murals and paintings would be installed in the ‘Kabir Mutt.
“Since Kabir was such type of saint who never overlooked or sacrificed his traditional occupation to get supreme spiritual height, therefore statues of all such type of saints such as saint Ravidas, Saint Gaura, Saint Dadu Dayal, Saint Paltu, Saint Dariya, Sanit Sadna would be installed at the premises of Mutt”, he
said.
“Besides, the practice place of Kabir was also associated with the freedom struggle of India through, which Mahatma Gandhi had got inspiration to initiate Khadi movement. Great Poet Rabindra Nath Tagore was also much influenced with the couplets of Kabir and Tagore had later translated 100 couplets of Kabir in English Language”, he said and added that statues of these great people would also be installed here to depict such type of historical moments.
He said that statues would be installed beneath trees situated in the mutt premises.
He further said that art galleries would be constructed here to display the murals and paintings.
He said that gardens would also be constructed here and to give it an international standard, the management of mutt was taking assistance of a Netherlands based team.
“Apart from these, the Kabir Mutt has been running a campaign for last several years to give a befitting reply to such type of so-called Kabir-Panthi Saints who were engaged in defaming the name of Kabir,” he said.
