As the controversy over the Paragodu issue seemed to be snowballing, Karnataka on Saturday decided to send an all-party delegation led by Chief Minister S M Krishna to Delhi on June 24 to apprise the Centre of the state's position on the project following Andhra Pradesh Government's stiff resistance to it.
Announcing this, state Water Resources Minister H K Patil charged Andhra Pradesh with "unnecessarily kicking up a row" over the Paragodu project which was meant for drinking water purpose.
Patil's announcement came even as an all-party delegation led by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu met Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the national capital and accused Karnataka of going ahead with Paradogu and Upper Tunga projects much against its interests.
