The murder of a boy a day after he was kidnapped in Kota has triggered angry reactions from the Congress and sent BJP leaders into a damage control mode.
State Congress president Sachin Pilot criticised the deteriorating law and order in the state and said innocent children, women and other sections were bearing the brunt of the government’s poor governance. “The government’s first duty is to provide protection to citizens but it has failed to do so,” Pilot said in a statement.
State BJP President Ashok Parnami, who along with other leaders was directed by the chief minister to monitor the situation, said, “This is a very sad incident.
We assure that the perpetrators will be caught at the earliest.”
Kota BJP MP Om Birla, who had apprised the chief minister of the incident, on Thursday night said, “We had formed monitoring teams in Kota and Jaipur last night and the police had also traced the phone call details and zeroed in on a suspicious car from CCTV footage.”
