Attires in the shades of red, orange, maroon and violet have added colour to this 'festival of colours'.

Vibrant coloured clothes including jeans, shirts and cargos are the taste of the lads this festive season, said Ritesh Singh, the owner of a garment shop in the Civil Lines.

Besides, floral print short shirts with designer jeans can also be teamed up this season, said Dada, another shopkeeper of the Civil Lines locality.

A new style of shirt shia-shakar is in a great demand, he added.

These outfits are mostly preferred in cotton and lenin fabric.

Talking about the young girls, Dada says they are all set to wear bright coloured kurte and long skirts on the occasion of Holi.

Not only this, they are also demanding casual wears including T-shirts and jeans.

The fabrics that are mostly available for young ladies are chiffon, crush and cotton.

However, Lali Priya, a teacher in fashion designing institute of Allahabad University asserts, "There are people who are still going for traditional outfits on the occasion of Holi". Young boys are demanding plane white cotton based kurta with Aligarhi pyjama. Besides, they even go for embroidered kurta.

She says the girls are making a choice of salwar suit with heavy embroidery and 'nag' work on it.
