Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Samajwadi Party’s Shailendra Kumar said instead of curtailing the security of the two leaders, the protection should be increased.

It has been proposed that the National Security Guard (NSG) may no longer guard some VIPs, including Lalu, his wife Rabri Devi, Mulayam, UP Chief Minister Mayawati and BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi. Paramilitary personnel would step in for the NSG.

“...withdraw our security. But if anything happens to us, be ready for the consequences,” said Lalu, looking at Home Minister P. Chidambaram.
